Web Application “Bouračka,” Which Digitizes Traffic Accident Reports from A to Z, Reached 35,000 Users in Its First Days
More than 35,000 users visited the “Bouračka” web application in its first days of operation. The app was developed for the Czech Insurers’ Bureau by the technology company Trask. Such strong interest confirms that the digitalization of traffic accident reporting holds significant potential among drivers and meets a real need.
The web application digitizes the entire process of recording a minor traffic accident—specifically those where it is not necessary to call the Czech Police. It focuses on simplicity, security, and integration with key registries. It significantly reduces the time needed to fill in the necessary information, lowers the risk of errors, and makes subsequent insurance claim processing easier.
Before we started development, it was essential to carefully consider the structure and user journey of the application so that it would be intuitive, secure, and able to guide users through the process even in stressful situations. Our subsidiary Bell&Hurry designed the interface and conducted user testing before the actual development began.

How does the Bouračka web application work?
The application runs directly in a web browser—no installation required. The user is intuitively guided step-by-step: from identifying participants, to taking photo documentation, to signing via SMS, and automatically sending the accident report to both participants and their insurers.
One of its advantages is its connection to public registries (Vehicle Register, Central Driver Register, Insurance Policy Database), which allows it to automatically retrieve necessary data. This enables correct pre-filling of the form and significantly speeds up the entire process.

Digitalization That Works Even on the Roadside: Anyone Can Handle It—In Just a Few Steps, Right in the Browser
All accident participants need is a smartphone. First, they are prompted to scan their ID cards using OCR technology. The system then automatically retrieves the relevant data from the registry and pre-fills the form. “Our Trask ZenID solution, which we also use in banking, verifies document authenticity, captures the license plate number, and fills in the form with the obtained data,” explains Pavel Riegger.
In addition to registry connections and document scanning, the application offers other smart features—such as GPS-based accident location, map integration, and direct photo capture of vehicle damage. The completed accident report is sent not only to insurers but also to both participants immediately after signing via SMS.
Bouračka: Safe, Fast, and in Control
Bouračka was developed with a strong emphasis on security and GDPR compliance. Communication is encrypted, and data is stored in a secure cloud. Only authorized parties—the accident participants, relevant insurers, the Czech Police, and firefighters—can access it.
The Bouračka web application is available for free at www.bouracka.cz. It is primarily intended for accidents involving two participants, with no injuries, estimated damage of up to CZK 200,000, and where the Czech Police are not required to attend. In 2024 alone, it could streamline the handling of up to 170,000 traffic accidents.
It’s great to be part of a project where technology proves its real impact—making people’s lives better in practice.
